Union Station Neighborhood Co.
Restoring the Past, Rethinking the Future
Urban developments are defined by innovation and restoration; work with what is currently built. Union Station Neighborhood does exactly that, it intertwines Denver's past with its future.
Union Station Neighborhood plans to restore the historic station while building a fully functional and architecturally savvy transportation hub around it.
The historic Union Station on Wynkoop Street is nearly 140 years old. If it disappeared for a new development, Denver would loose a crucial part of its history.
Fortunately, it will be restored as a centerpiece in downtown Denver.
Denver Union Station is a historical landmark. It served as the gateway to the west when it originally opened in 1870 and will continue to draw attention as the focal point of the Union Station Neighborhood.
However, DUSPA (Denver Union Station Project Authority) will work with the master developer to renovate and restore certain portions of the historical structure as a preventative measure. Ensuring the station is vital while more than 19.5 acres fill in around it with a train hall, six public plazas, and over a million square feet of retail, commercial and residential real estate.
